New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve Celebration

We enjoyed our day at home playing games...cleaning...singing and dancing. Tonight ate delicious pizza at Marinades and headed to the New Year's Eve Celebration at the Children's Museum. We had lots of fun with our friend Flannery. We even got to watch the ball drop.

Happy New Year!

Schavey Xmas 2008

Schavey Xmas 2008
Our Christmas was filled with the excitement of getting ready for Santa's arrival. We made cookies with the kids, but as you can see from the pictures they didn't really turn out. Still not sure what we did wrong. Xmas morning was really fun. Even Bo enjoyed the sounds of all the new toys. Once we opened all gifts and played with everything at least once, we were off to Chicago. Ella kept busy in the car with her new make-up kit...wow that was fun!
At Grandma's all the kids got together for a photo...the girls played with their make-up and body tatoos from Grandma and the guys had fun playing the Wii.
Happy Holidays
Love, The Schavey's

Wow, now that's a lot of kids...

Sorry Santa, they didn't really turn out :)

Bo was very curious of a new sound on xmas morning...

Ella's Art

Ella's Art
The other morning I walked in Ella's room to find that the night before she was inspired to create art on her wall. My creative genius used her chapstick as adhesive to put flower petals on her wall...and if that weren't beautiful enough she used permanent marker to color around it. Gotta give her props for being creative. She told me she "just wanted to decorate her room". My first reaction was going to be upset but I thought about The Last Lecture and told her she was my creative artist, but next time just ask mommy when you want to decorate your room :)

Joey's Home Alone Performance

Home Alone Performance
A few days ago we watch Home Alone on t.v. and Joey loved it...throughout the movie when Kevin would do something to the bad guys Joey would yell out things like
"Oh, yeah Baby"
"That's gonna hurt"
"Wicked"
"Oh yeah, take that"
Joey was very impressed with the character Kevin that he told me he needs a robe just like Kevin's. Then today when we heard "I am wishing for a white Christmas" he got out his comb and started singing. So needless to say we got out the towel, wet his hair and dad and I had Joey do his Home Alone presentation. Enjoy our little actor!

Going to see Santa 2008

Going to see Santa
Yesterday we had a long day...we went to take our annual family photo http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?eventthumbs?event=Y40508I1&b=0&t=-1&start=0&password=schavey Then we had lunch, and stood in a long line to see Santa. I really appreciated the little "talk" Santa gave to Ella and Joey.

Mom's Birthday surprise

The Saturday before my birthday I came home from work to find a Happy Birthday poster, homemade cookies and a new laptop...wow, what a surprise! Thanks Mike, Joey and Ella

The other day Ella was getting ready to go and this is what she came out of her room looking like. She was requesting a bag for all her other bags...My Accessory Queen

Me and My Guitar
Joey has been my super star lately and loves playing his guitar and singing songs with original lyrics.

Sledding with Friends

Sledding with Friends

Alex and Cal came over today and we all decided to go sledding. We had lots of fun. Ella enjoyed herself on the top of the hill and only that...no sledding for her...hopefully we will get her to warm up to adventure :) Joey, Cal and Alex were the best trio on the hill.

Xmas tree 2008

X-mas Tree 2008

This year we didn't get our tree from Post Family Farms...we heard about a place to cut down your own tree for only $15...well we should of known that sounded too good to be true. We took the wagon ride out to the field to discover trees ranged from $40-$70 :O We searched for the right tree...Joey found a very large one and Ella found a baby tree she wanted...We came to an agreement on a mid-size tree. Joey and Ella helped Daddy cut the tree down. We took it back on the wagon ride and they shook it off and wrapped it up for us. We spent some time inside having hot chocolate and sitting on Santa's lap. The ride home Joey and Ella took a quick nap and when we got home we put up our tree and unpacked all our decorations. We didn't have enough time to get all the ornaments up so we will finish that today.

Oh Yeh, we did find the $15 tree they we about Joey's hight and in a stand...I made Mike take a picture by his $15 tree :)

Ride home to GR

Ride Home

Our ride home to GR was filled with lots of fun Schavey moments. For the most part Joey and Ella actually got along and even took these cute shots together. Bo was happy...ears back and tounge hanging out and Joey entertained us with his fake teeth he got at the dollar store.

Where did he learn those moves?

Ella 1st trip to the Dentist

Ella's 1st Trip to the Dentist

About a month ago I took Ella to her first dentist appointment. Let's just say it didn't go as smoothly as it did with Joey's firt trip to the dentist. Take note of her looking away in hopes that she can ignore her way out of it...or the fear of death look she had as she was screaming her lungs out...there is nothing worse then holding your daughter down while she is screaming for dear life! I didn't realize until awhile later that Joey had the camera out and was taking pictures of the whole thing. Too bad it wasn't on video...we could of won America's Funniest Home Videos.

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving 2008

Hope your time with family & friends was as great as ours was. Happy Thanksgiving from the Schavey family! This week we have seen Bolt and Madagascar 2! Mike and Dawn were out by 4am for our Holiday shopping on Friday morning and all done with our shopping and back by 7am. Having Mike come with me this year cut my time in half while saving a spot in lines and kept me on budget (the real reason he came with me):0

We look forward to this weekend when we get our tree and decorate the house. Tis the season! Happy Holidays.

PS) Trista I may need some cookie making & decorating tips from you!

Wish list for Santa 2008

Dear Santa,

This weekend our mom and dad took us the stores and let us take pictures of what we wanted on our Christmas wish list. We had lots of fun. These are some of the cool things we picked out. We even helped mom make this cool slide show and picked out the trumpet music. We look forward to your visit next month.

Love,
Joey and Ella

I'm a big boy

This morning Joey woke up, got dressed and came and woke mom up. "It's good-morning time, time to make breakfast" said joey. Mom and joey made french toast, scrambled eggs and sausage. He was such a big helper...he even wants to type up his own message:

Weekend in Chicago- November 2008

Chicago in November

We had a great time last weekend visiting grandma naughty pants and all our aunts, uncles and cousins. Saturday morning we met Aunt Dorie, Jake and Clare at the farm for a pie class. We had so much fun learning how to make a pie from scratch. Aunt Dana, Katie and Elaine met us at the farm after pie class and we fed the chickens and collected the eggs. We got to see a posium caught in a cage and had great time running around the farm.

Saturday afternoon we went to Mason's indoor football game...mom didn't get to watch much since Ella didn't like the noise we spend time in a private room playing Salon with our cousin Elaine! Ella is getting great at make-up application and nail painting...Beauty school here she comes.

Sunday we had a lot of fun at Andrew and Maya's birthday parties and played football outside with our cousin Mason. As always the weekend was jammed with things to do and we had lots of fun. We miss you all and will you in a month!
